- Das Flugzeug erhielt einen Treffer in ein Triebwerk, das zu rauchen begann. Der Pilot versuchte die Maschine in Richtung der alliierten Linien zu fliegen und ließ Ballast abwerfen, um die Maschine in der Luft zu halten. In Vorbereitung der Notlandung wurde das Flugzeug von zwei deutschen Jägern angegriffen, die die Maschine schwer beschädigten. Der Pilot gab das Zeichen "bail out". Acht Mann konnten das Flugzeug verlassen, der Pilot und Co-Pilot starben beim Absturz.
